Short description
The BQ-Portal bundles all relevant information on foreign professional qualifications and vocational training systems on one platform. The portal enables users to make a quick and consistent assessment of foreign professional and vocational qualifications. Recognition procedures become more uniform and transparent through coordination via the BQ portal. It optimizes the exchange of information as well as the networking of the recognition bodies.The aim is to increase the acceptance of foreign professional qualifications - and thus to better integrate skilled workers with a migration background into the labor market and society.
Since 2015, one focus has been information on the main countries of origin of refugees. The BQ-Portal team of experts, in cooperation with the recognition bodies, researches, translates and prepares information on vocational training systems and qualifications in the main countries of origin of refugees. In addition, 7 compact country fact sheets on Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Eritrea and Nigeria have been prepared to assess the qualifications of refugees, and the report "Education Levels of Refugees: Training and Education in the Main Countries of Origin" has been published.
Since 2022, one of the main focuses has been on supporting Ukrainian refugees and therefore expanding information on Ukraine. Over 90 Ukrainian training regulations have been translated to facilitate and accelerate the recognition of Ukrainian degrees. In addition, several webinars on the recognition potential of Ukrainian degrees were held and the report "Integration of refugees from Ukraine through professional recognition" was published.
