Professional career
Albert Scherr studied sociology (1977-1982) and obtained his doctorate (1984) at the University of Frankfurt, then worked as a social worker, 1989-1990 researcher at the University of Bielefeld, 1991 appointed professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, 1998 habilitation in general sociology at the University of Karlsruhe, since 2001 professor at the University of Education in Freiburg.
