Interview

Q1. Who are you?

I am a refugee founder and project coordinator with a background in media and activism. My work is dedicated to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by forcibly displaced individuals and communities.

Q2. What was your motivation for applying for the FFVT fellowship? Why Germany?

My motivation for applying for the FFVT fellowship stems from my passion for creating positive change in the lives of refugees. Germany is a leading hub for interdisciplinary research on forced migration and refugee issues, and the FFVT program offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with esteemed institutions like BICC, CHREN, IDOS, and IMIS.

Q3. What do you expect from the fellowship?

I expect the fellowship to provide a platform for deepening my knowledge of forced migration issues, engaging with experts from various disciplines, and contributing to impactful research or knowledge transfer projects. I look forward to leveraging the resources and support from the host institution to advance my understanding and work.

Q4. What is the focus of your work, and what is innovative about it? / What are your planned outcomes and activities for the fellowship period? And how do they relate to your FFVT hosting institution/ the FFVT cooperation project?

The focus of my work is on media and the inclusion of refugee voices, especially those currently displaced. This aligns with the FFVT program’s goals, adding a unique dynamic to the discussions on forced migration and displacement, particularly in media contexts. My planned outcomes include fostering collaboration and sustained engagement between the refugee community and institutions like the European Coalition of Migrants and Refugees and the Global Refugee Led Network. I aim to amplify refugee voices and build solid relationships with the FFVT program, contributing meaningfully to the upcoming conference on Forced Migration and Displacement in September 2024.
